Concept 44 Architecture took on the exciting challenge of revitalising an ancient stone barn, breathing new life into its timeworn structure. The objective was to transform the historic barn into a unique and spacious home while preserving its historic charm. The result is a stunning blend of contemporary design and rustic elegance that showcases Concept 44’s dedication to preserving heritage while embracing modern living.
This historic barn conversion encompassed a complete overhaul of the derelict structure, requiring building to be stripped back to its shell. This challenging process allowed the architects to reimagine the space, creating a quirky and functional layout that celebrated the barn’s historic legacy.
Concept 44 Architecture understood the significance of maintaining the barn’s original character. Throughout the renovation, great care was taken to preserve the building’s historical features, including the rugged stone walls and traditional architectural elements.
The design called for two bedrooms, with one located on the ground floor and the other on the upper level. The upper floor also boasts a large open-plan kitchen/living area and a bathroom, providing an expansive and flexible living space.
